Is the dress code conservative and professional or casual?

Do Your Homework: Yes, we understand you just graduated and homework is the last thing you want to do, but alas, you need to. Do a thorough research about the company. You want to be as familiar with this prospective employer as possible so that you can carry on an intelligent contribution to the conversation.

This means you don’t just memorize facts about the organization either. As you do your research, find answers to these questions and use the answers to contribute to the conversation part of the interview:

1). What light does the company view itself?
2). From an employee, what makes the company different from their competition?
3). What make this company known for?
4). Has this company a news subject lately, and if it has, for what?
5). What king of clients, initiatives, products and projects is this company known for?

8). Find out who the key players are in the company and how their backgrounds fit into the company.

Maybe vocational training is better for some of them and what happens to those who don’t get a high school diploma? 

Today, we’re going to look at Common Core State Standard. What exactly is it and how is that going affect the workplace when the students that are taught that way get to the workforce. If you’re like most people that are reading this blog, you probably only have an ambiguous idea about what Common Core State Standard is. Results from a Gallup Poll indicated that almost two-thirds of American hasn’t even heard about it, much less understand it. 

In the early part of 2009, 48 of the states along with the District of Columbia jointly agreed that for children to be ready for college, a new standard in teaching was needed. Thus CCSS (Common Core State Standard) was born.

After receiving input from business leaders, online loans reviews education experts, researchers and teachers, the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers wrote and published the CCSS in 2010.  With the final draft of the CCSS adopted, the California State Board of Education was the first to sign on. As of today, not all states have adopted this new standard.

So right away, we can see that the CCSS strand won’t be accomplished in a single year. Many are questioning how well this new standard is going to work because of low test scores from the first states that have implemented the new standards. The AP way of keeping score is going to go away and instead, schools will rely on grade-point average along with teacher recommendations until this new standard gets worked out.

How Is The Workforce Going To Be Affected?

For the white men the numbers are 1 in 8.

When this report was released, there were over 2 million Americans incarcerated.  That may not seem high considering the overall population, but the number behind bars in 1980 was 500,000. THREE: Use screening process to sort x-inmates by the level of risk they pose, allowing lower-risk offenders the opportunity for community-based, high-quality mandatory supervision programs. 

FOUR: Allow inmates to use earned-time credits, educational, vocational and rehab program participation toward making a successful reentry into the community and the job market. 

FIVE: Use other sanctions besides prison for lesser crimes such as weekend incarceration which will allow them to keep working.

It’s not anything new that those with a high school diplomas or higher will earn better wages from legitimate work. This alone reduces the assumed need to commit crimes. That itself will eliminate the stigma that comes with being incarcerated, for both the criminal and their families.

At the end of the day though, the best thing that these young men (and women) can do is stay out of jail. Don’t do the crime and they won’t have to do the time. Society needs to take the steps necessary to ensure everyone gets the education they are entitled to in this country.
